Silicon Valley Marketing Firm Captures Publishing Award for IBM

Secured Wins Best Print-Only Newsletter Award

Los Altos, CA—May 02, 2002
TotalStorage Solutions (TSS), an IBM newsletter produced by The TDA Group, a full-service marketing firm serving the high tech community, won a 2002 Maggie Award from the Western Publications Association (WPA) in the newsletter category. TSS is a custom publication targeted at the enterprise customers of IBM’s Storage Systems Group and its products. The Maggie Awards, announced every April, are awarded annually by the WPA to promote the pursuit of excellence among publishing professionals through recognition of its members’ best work.

The IBM TSS newsletter provides IT professionals with up-to-date information about IBM data storage products and their real-world use. Storage technology, which enables users to access information at any time from any location, has emerged to become a critical element of corporate data centers. Notes Carol Decker, Program Manager, IBM Storage Systems Group and Editor-in-Chief of TSS, “Storage technology changes rapidly. With TotalStorage Solutions, our readers have access to up-to-the-minute information to help make decisions and leverage their financial investments in storage hardware and software. This award recognizes not only the newsletter’s editorial quality, but also IBM’s commitment to customer service.”

IBM uses TSS to create a sense of community for IBM storage customers, describing the real problems that keep storage professionals awake at night. Debbie Dawson, partner at The TDA Group and Managing Editor of TSS, states, “TDA has long believed that TotalStorage Solutions provides a great informational value to IBM customers and an unparalleled marketing benefit to IBM. We are delighted that the publication has been recognized by our peers as a example of publishing excellence.”

The TSS July 2001 issue was evaluated for readability, editorial quality, and design and was chosen from a field of five finalists that included Health Direct (Summer 2001 issue), Publications Management (August 2001 issue), Smart Health (Fall 2001 issue), and Vitalidad Ahora (Summer 2001 issue). The newsletter also appears on the IBM Web site at www.storage.ibm.com/tsmagazine/index.htm for readers to obtain more in-depth information.
